Hello. The purpose of this blog, quite frankly, is to do just as the esteemed Mr. Bierce suggests above - to dislodge the worms from the current thinking in Human Resources management. In other words, to test the common logic and text book answers to see what falls out.

I have two basic reasons for doing this: first, I have found that I often disagree with the mainstream approach to HR problem solving based on my own experience working in the field, and second, because I want to test my own thinking against the community at large so that I can be the best HR person possible.

With that being said, some of my posts might be abrasive or inflammatory (what did you expect from the title of the blog!), but my intentions are good. I may even play the Devil’s Advocate at times and intentionally post something with which I don’t agree.

So, please enjoy my posts and the site in general, and above all - participate. I want an active reader base whenever possible. Remember, I’m not proselytizing as much as I am testing my own logic and experiences. Don’t hesitate to agitate me right back.
